Twerking Politicians and Human Rights - 20220710

I'm really not sure what I should write about today. Most of the day I've been making and publishing videos, trying to get caught up due to some work conflicts. Sometimes it seems as if there is so much to talk about you can't actually think of and focus on any of them. Everything is moving and changing so fast. I suppose I'll start with a quite remark on the separation of church and state. So it should be obviously vitally important that we maintain a separation between church and state, and I don't personally know many people who dispute this. There are of course religious peoples on all sides that promote a government adherence to a specific religion, but you'll find no support for that here; the founding fathers knew it was a bad idea, and I know it's a bad idea. I'm under the impression that the current wave of controversy surrounding this topic, as it applies specifically to the supreme court, is over the football coach who won his case to pray on

The Supreme Court - 20220703

Another week another blog post. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot in terms of length for these posts; sometimes I feel as if they're too short, but I also want to respect your time, especially considering the lack of value added because of your reading this blog. Who am I? I'll hopefully have it all figured out before too long. What to talk about this week... Well, for starters, we're growing slowly across all platforms, so that's good. We finally hit 200 subscribers on YouTube which is exciting. With that I would like to thank everyone for the support and attention you've given us, we do truly appreciate it. With that said, let's talk about The Supreme Court for a moment.  Obviously the talk of the town at the moment is The Supreme Court. I won't go into detail on the courts decision to overturn Roe V. Wade (see last weeks post for more detail on that), I do however want to discuss the role and nature of the court, as well as some other decisions

Abortion and Men's Rights - 20220626

As you could hopefully see in the title, this post will primarily talk about abortion. As many of you will already know, Roe V. Wade was overturned, and what a glorious week it has been as a result. First, let's all take a moment to thank democrats for not codifying Roe into law when Obama was president, which they could have done (if memory serves me). Why anyone is surprised this is happening is beyond me, but the meltdown and hysteria has been delicious. Let me be clear from the outset on my position on abortion; I am pro-abortion, not pro-choice.     I do not agree that the issue is simply a matter of personal choice, if it were, men would be able to financially abort. Why it makes sense for, as they say, "two people to tango", and then provide only one of them 100% of the decision making power is unclear, but I find it nonsensical and unfair, considering the "age of equality" we seem to be in. Dave Chappele said it best, and I'm loosely quoting, w

Leftist Morality - 20220619

I'm currently writing this on very little sleep, at work, and I have a bad habit of not proof-reading or editing, so, mistakes be damned! I did take the week off from making videos. It was supposed to be a week off from social media entirely, but I hate to admit, I tweeted quite a few times. Staying completely off of social media is no easy task, not when you're in the developing stages of a brand; I suppose it's just the nature of the beast, as they say. I should warn you that many of these blog posts will seem repetitive. While the task of fighting authoritarianism is noble, it's also monotonous and at times, daunting. We seem to be fighting many of the same battles over and over and over again, with slight variations in circumstance. Either way, it's good exercise for me to write, and hopefully it will be good for you as well.  I suppose we should touch on drag shows for children again (if we didn't in the last post, I can't remember). If you would have

Blog Introduction - 20220612

I'm actually very excited to sit down and get this blog going. It's been on my mind ever since I started "The Rational Layman." I enjoy writing much more than I do making videos, and I don't do it nearly enough, but hopefully I'll keep up with this weekly blog as a sort of companion piece to the channel.      I suppose it best to begin with a sort of introduction, statement of intent/purpose, expectations, et cetera. The blog will hopefully serve as not only a source of information in conjunction with the daily videos, but also as a place to vent, sort of like a journal or diary. I'm hoping the writing comes off that way as well, reading more like a conversation and less like a lecture. I will admit that I am slightly out of practice with the writing since I left university, but bare with me, and hopefully this can be a cool little side piece to the normal "The Rational Layman" content. This will also allow me to expand upon certain ideas an
